Students will get a first hand look at how we train our dogs to detect and respond to odor, before they become police dogs. Participants will learn the step-by-step process of training dogs to identify and alert to target odors. Starting with ground boxes and advancing to vehicles. Students will also observe an in person student attending the trainer course, as the student learns to train several dogs. You will watch as the student receives instruction and applies it in the exercises. This course covers the principles of scent detection, proper reward techniques, and the understanding to build a dog from basic to advanced searches. This course also shows the process Canine Deployed uses to get their signature "obedience to odor" and "laser focused stare". Whether you are training a new dog or trying to build a stronger foundation on your current detection dog, this course is for you. At the completion of this course. Students will receive a certificate of completion.
