About the event
Welcome to our comprehensive three-day course designed to equip handlers and their K9s with the expertise needed to successfully locate suspects across various environments. Day 1 kicks off with an insightful lecture, setting the stage for understanding the core disciplines and objectives of the course. The latter part of Day 1 introduces hands-on urban tracking/trailing exercises with our K9 units in the field. Days 2 and 3 delve deep into handler training, laying a strong foundation for both handlers and their K9 partners.
Throughout the course, attendees will gain invaluable knowledge to enhance their K9 teams' capabilities and facilitate the training of other units. Topics covered include:
· Human odor vs Ground disturbance
· Characteristics of odor
· Environmental effects on odor
· Physical characteristics of a tracking/trailing K9
